Cross-border Lucky Money will be transferred to the default bank account of the Alipay user in Mainland China. The recipient must collect the Cross-border Lucky Money within 48 hours after receiving the notification or the Cross-border Lucky Money will be cancelled and refunded.

  • If the recipient has set up a default bank account via Alipay, the Cross-border Lucky Money can be transferred to the account within 15 minutes.
  • If not, the recipient has to set up a default bank account within 72 hours after receiving the Cross-border Lucky Money (the Cross-border Lucky Money should be collected within 48 hours). For example, if the recipient collects the Cross-border Lucky Money two hours after receiving notification, he/she still has 70 hours left to set up a default bank account. After the bank account is successfully set up via Alipay, the Cross-border Lucky Money can be transferred to the account within 15 minutes.

The amount limit of each Cross-border Luck Money is RMB 50-520. Cross-border Lucky Money shares daily limit with Remittance, and shares yearly limit with all payment functions :

Ways to collect payments: 1. Tap "Collect" at the bottom right on homepage, show the QR code on the page to the payer, the payer sets the payment amount to complete the transaction. 2. Tap "Collect" at the bottom right on homepage, tap "Set amount", enter the total amount and no. of people (the total amount will be divided evenly according to the number of people), after your confirmation, you can notify the payee via social media (such as WhatsApp) to complete the transaction.

Remittances to the Chinese mainland are only acceptableed for the following sources and purposes and from the following sources of funds. Once the remittance is complete, you can use the funds for personal daily expenses:

  • Salary Remittance: This primarily refers to remitting your own salary to the Chinese mainland. Alipay may request the recipient to provide recent bank statements salary transactions, pay slips, or labor employment contracts as supporting documents/evidence.
  • Family Support Remittance: Suitable for remitting funds to direct relatives or family members in the Chinese mainland who are legally dependent on you. Alipay may request the recipient to provide proof of the familial relationship. If remitting funds to yourself, please select “Salary Remittance” as the purpose.
  • Online Shopping: Refers to personal transactions made on online shopping platforms. Alipay may request the recipient to provide proof of the transaction, such as screenshots of platform sales and detailed information.
  • Payment of Service Fees: Refers to fees arising from a service contract signed between you and the recipient. Alipay may request the recipient to provide supporting documents such as service contracts or agreements.

Notes:

  1. Salary and family support remittances are acceptable to recipients holding a People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card and a Hong Kong/Macao Resident Home-return Permit.
  2. Online shopping and payment of service fees are only permissible for recipients verified with a People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card.

To the Philippines:
- Cash withdrawal: If the remittance was made between 9:00am- 6:00pm (GMT +8), the cash should be ready for pick up after 15 minutes
- Bank deposit: The processing time vary depending on the selected bank, please allow 1-2 business days before checking
- GCash: The remittance should be received instantly.

To Indonesia:
-For remittance to bank, normally within 1-2 business days;
-For remittance to e-Wallet, the earliest remittance time could be within minutes, normally within 30 minutes.
The verification level should be of Intermediate or Advanced level for remittance in the Chinese Mainland:
• For Intermediate accounts, the maximum remittance limits are HKD 7,999 daily and HKD 100,000 annually
• For Advanced accounts, the maximum remittance limits are HKD 20,000 daily and HKD 500,000 annually

Starting from 13 December 2022, a handling fee of HKD 25 per transaction will be charged for remittance service to the Chinese mainland.
From 20 June 20 2023 to 30 June 2024, the minimum remittance amount eligible for fee waiver will be adjusted to RMB 6,500 or above per transaction. New users will still enjoy fee waiver for their first remittance.

From 1 January 2022 onwards, users who are registered on or after 1 September 2021 and have not yet completed the ID scanning and live selfie verification will not be able to perform the following functions by balance:Taobao (except for Tmall HK), transfer and send Lucky Money, cross-border payments and remittance. Users can link a credit card for sending Luck Money. Once you complete the verification, you can enjoy the maximum transaction limits and all product functions. ID scanning is only applicable to HKID.
There is no transaction fee for sending Lucky Money using AlipayHK balance or bank account. For users who send Lucky Money by credit card, please take note of the following transaction fee waiver limits:

Failure to receive money may be due to the limit set for your account verification level being exceeded: • Unverified account users have a single transaction limit of HKD 2,000; a single daily limit of HKD3,000; a full yearly limit of HKD 25,000; an account balance of HKD 3,000 • Intermediate verified account users have a single transaction limit of HKD 5,000; a single daily limit of HKD 10,000; a full yearly limit of HKD 100,000; an account balance of HKD 100,000 • Advanced verified account users have a single transaction limit of HKD 5,000; a single daily limit of HKD 20,000; a full yearly limit of HKD 200,000; an account balance of HKD 100,000 • The annual collection limit as listed above also applies to top up, credit card transfer and etc.
Ways to collect payments: 1. Tap "Collect" at the bottom right on homepage, show the QR code on the page to the payer, the payer sets the payment amount to complete the transaction. 2. Tap "Collect" at the bottom right on homepage, tap "Set amount", enter the total amount and no. of people (the total amount will be divided evenly according to the number of people), after your confirmation, you can notify the payee via social media (such as WhatsApp) to complete the transaction.

Remittances to the Chinese mainland are only acceptableed for the following sources and purposes and from the following sources of funds. Once the remittance is complete, you can use the funds for personal daily expenses:

  • Salary Remittance: This primarily refers to remitting your own salary to the Chinese mainland. Alipay may request the recipient to provide recent bank statements salary transactions, pay slips, or labor employment contracts as supporting documents/evidence.
  • Family Support Remittance: Suitable for remitting funds to direct relatives or family members in the Chinese mainland who are legally dependent on you. Alipay may request the recipient to provide proof of the familial relationship. If remitting funds to yourself, please select “Salary Remittance” as the purpose.
  • Online Shopping: Refers to personal transactions made on online shopping platforms. Alipay may request the recipient to provide proof of the transaction, such as screenshots of platform sales and detailed information.
  • Payment of Service Fees: Refers to fees arising from a service contract signed between you and the recipient. Alipay may request the recipient to provide supporting documents such as service contracts or agreements.

Notes:

  1. Salary and family support remittances are acceptable to recipients holding a People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card and a Hong Kong/Macao Resident Home-return Permit.
  2. Online shopping and payment of service fees are only permissible for recipients verified with a People’s Republic of China Resident Identity Card.

As per Hong Kong AML and CTF regulations, we are required to inquire about the purpose of each transfer.
To the Chinese Mainland:
- Recipients can receive the remittance via Mainland Alipay account balance or linked bank account.
- If the remittance is received with a linked bank account or choose balance as the collection method, the remittance will be credited within 15 minutes. If the recipient has not set up linked a bank account or choose balance as the collection method yet, he/she must do so within 72 hours of receiving the notification, after which the remittance will be automatically canceled and the amount will be refunded to the sender.

To the Philippines:
- Cash withdrawal: If the remittance was made between 9:00am- 6:00pm (GMT +8), the cash should be ready for pick up after 15 minutes
- Bank deposit: The processing time vary depending on the selected bank, please allow 1-2 business days before checking
- GCash: The remittance should be received instantly.

To Indonesia:
-For remittance to bank, normally within 1-2 business days;
-For remittance to e-Wallet, the earliest remittance time could be within minutes, normally within 30 minutes.
The verification level should be of Intermediate or Advanced level for remittance in the Chinese Mainland:
• For Intermediate accounts, the maximum remittance limits are HKD 7,999 daily and HKD 100,000 annually
• For Advanced accounts, the maximum remittance limits are HKD 20,000 daily and HKD 500,000 annually
• Remittance, in-store payments and online payments shall be included in and counted towards the same limit. For more details please refer to the limits displayed on the actual page.

The verification level should be of Intermediate or Advanced level for remittance in the Philippines:

To the Chinese Mainland:
Starting from 13 December 2022, a handling fee of HKD 25 per transaction will be charged for remittance service to the Chinese mainland.
From 20 June 20 2023 to 30 June 2024, the minimum remittance amount eligible for fee waiver will be adjusted to RMB 6,500 or above per transaction. New users will still enjoy fee waiver for their first remittance.


To the Philippines:
Remittances to Bank Accounts/Pick Up will be charged a HKD 15 transaction fee.
Remittances to GCash eWallet has no transaction fee

Lucky Money link will expire and return to the sender 24 hours after being sent if it hasn’t been collected.
From 1 January 2022 onwards, users who are registered on or after 1 September 2021 and have not yet completed the ID scanning and live selfie verification will not be able to perform the following functions by balance:Taobao (except for Tmall HK), transfer and send Lucky Money, cross-border payments and remittance. Users can link a credit card for sending Luck Money. Once you complete the verification, you can enjoy the maximum transaction limits and all product functions. ID scanning is only applicable to HKID.
There is no transaction fee for sending Lucky Money using AlipayHK balance or bank account. For users who send Lucky Money by credit card, please take note of the following transaction fee waiver limits:
